What this statement covers
This statement describes what happens to information you send through www.moon-insurance.com — the forms on this site, and nothing else.
Information you give us later, when you apply for a policy or ask us to service one, is handled under the agency’s and the insurance carrier’s own privacy practices rather than under this page. Those are provided to you separately as part of that process. If you want to know how a particular carrier handles your information before you apply, ask us on the call and we will tell you where to find it.
What this website collects
Only what you send us in a form. There is no account to create, and simply reading a page sends nothing to us. Your browser does keep a short note of which pages you looked at, so that a form can tell us what you were reading about — that note stays in your browser and reaches us only if you choose to submit a form. It is described below.
What you enter
- Your name.
- Your email address.
- Your phone number.
- Your company name, if you are asking about business insurance.
- Your home address — street, city, state and ZIP, in one field. Every form on this site asks for it, and every form requires it: none of them will send without it. We ask because where you live is most of what sets an insurance rate. If you would rather not type it, call us on (281) 484-8320 instead.
- Your date of birth. Every form asks, and you can leave it blank on all of them — nothing on this site refuses to send without it. We ask because your age is the other half of a rate, and having it here is one phone call fewer before we can quote you.
- Which kind of insurance you are asking about, and why you are asking now.
- The vehicles you want covered — up to four, each with a year, make and model and, if you have it to hand, a VIN. Every one of those fields is optional.
- Your driver’s license number, on the SR-22 page only, and only if you choose to type it. See below.
- Whatever you write in the comments box.
- One optional file attachment on the contact form — a PDF, JPG, PNG or DOCX, up to 8 MB. It is optional, and the form tells you not to send policy documents, identification, payment details or medical information through it.
What the form adds automatically
- The address of the page you submitted from, so we know which question you were reading when you asked.
- The first page you opened on this site, the page you were on immediately before the form, and the website that sent you here if one did — so that whoever calls you back already knows roughly what you were looking at. Your browser keeps this short list for the tab you are reading in and forgets it when you close the tab. It is sent only with a form you submit, never while you are reading, and it records pages on this website rather than anywhere else you have been.
- The name of the staff member a link preselected, where you arrived from a link that named one, so the message reaches the right desk.
- A hidden field left empty by people and filled in by automated spam software, which is how a submission gets discarded without a puzzle for you to solve.
What this website never asks for
This is a deliberate design decision, not an oversight. No form on this site has a field for any of the following, and none of it is stored or emailed by this website:
- Social Security numbers.
- Bank account, card or payment details.
- Medical or health information.
- Account passwords.
The driver’s license field on the SR-22 page
One field on this website asks for a driver’s license number: the SR-22 quote form at /sr-22-insurance/. It exists because that number is what lets us look up your driving record and work out a price before we call you, instead of spending the call collecting it. An SR-22 filing needs the number eventually in any case.
The field is optional. Leave it blank and the form still sends — nothing is rejected, and we will ask you for the number on the phone instead. No other form on this site has the field at all.
If you do enter it, the number reaches our agency the same way every other answer on that form does: through our website host’s form service, and by email to the agent who calls you. We do not sell it, share it with anyone outside this agency, or use it for anything other than quoting and filing the policy you asked about. If you would rather it never travelled that way, leave the field empty and call us on (281) 484-8320.
Worth saying plainly, because that page is the one place it applies: if you fill in every field there, one message carries your name, your home address, your date of birth and your license number together. That is more about you in one place than anywhere else on this site. Your name and address are the two the quote form asks you to complete; your date of birth and your license number can both be left blank, and we will ask for whatever is missing on the phone.
Cookies, analytics and tracking
This website uses Google Analytics to count how many people read each page, how many start a form, how many go on to send one, and how many tap the phone number on a mobile. It sets a cookie in your browser to do that, and it tells Google that a visit happened. There are no advertising or social pixels, no session recording, and no web fonts.
One page — the quote request page — also shows a Google Map of the office, so you can see where FM 1959 actually is before driving out. A map is a piece of Google loaded inside our page, which means that on that one page Google is told a visit happened and may set its own cookie, in the same way it would if you had opened Google Maps yourself. It is told nothing about you that this page does not tell it anyway, and it is on no other page of this site. If you would rather not load it, the office address is written out in plain text directly above it and the page works identically without the map.
We measure across the three websites this agency owns — this one, suretybondhouston.com and seniorlifeinsurancehouston.com — so that following a link from one to another is counted as one visit rather than two. That is the full extent of it. Nothing here follows you off those three sites, and no advertising profile is built from your visit: the settings that would hand this visit to Google’s advertising network are switched off, and this agency does not run ads that could use it.
The site also uses one small piece of your browser’s own storage — the short list of pages described above, which lets a form tell us what you were reading about. That list belongs to the tab you are in, is deleted when you close it, and can be read by nobody except this website. Nothing is sent while you browse; it is attached to a submission only when you press the button yourself, and the same two or three page addresses are counted in Google Analytics at that moment so we can tell which pages bring people in.
If you would rather not be counted, an ad blocker or your browser’s tracking protection will stop it — Safari and Firefox block this sort of script on their own, without being asked. Nothing on this site behaves differently when you do: every page, form and phone number works the same. There is no cookie banner to dismiss, because dismissing one has never been how you turn this off.
Who else handles what you send
This site is hosted by Netlify, which also processes the form submissions. When you send a form, Netlify stores the submission and emails it to the agency’s shared inbox so a licensed agent can act on it. Like any web host, Netlify records ordinary server request information as part of delivering and protecting the site.
Google receives the counts described above. It is told which pages were viewed, that a form was started or sent, that a phone number was tapped and which part of the page it was tapped in, and — when you send a form — which pages you read before doing so. It is never told your name, your email address, your phone number, or anything else you typed into a form. Not one word you type on this site reaches Google: what you write goes to the agency, and Google is told only that you wrote something. On the quote request page it is additionally told that the map on it was loaded, which is the same thing it learns from anyone who opens Google Maps.
That is the complete list. We do not sell your information, we do not rent or trade it, and we do not hand it to advertisers or data brokers. If we need to send your details to an insurance carrier to get you a quote, that happens because you asked us to get you a quote — and we will tell you which markets we are approaching.
How long we keep it
Form submissions stay in the site’s form storage and in the agency’s email until they are deleted. We have not set a fixed retention period for website enquiries, and we would rather say so than publish a schedule nobody is enforcing.
If you want a submission removed, call the office and ask. We will delete it and tell you when it is done.
Your choices
- Ask what we hold about you, and we will tell you.
- Ask us to correct something that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete a website enquiry, as above.
- Ask us to stop contacting you. Say so on the call or reply to the email and it stops — there is no marketing list to unsubscribe from, because this site does not run one.
Records connected to an actual insurance policy are a different matter: those are subject to the record-keeping obligations of a licensed agency and its carriers, and we cannot delete them on request. Ask us and we will explain what applies to your situation.
Children
This website is for adults arranging insurance and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something through this site, call the office and we will delete it.

Changes to this statement
If we change how this website handles information, we change this page and update the revision date at the top of it. The date is typed by whoever made the change, so it means a person reviewed this document on that day.
